Travel Research Grant
This grant is awarded to an individual or organization for the development of a research technique or methodology. The recipient may be an individual or an organization responsible for the application of a traditional or a presently available resarch technique or methodology in a particularly creative manner which may increase its usefulness. The awards committee will review entries and judge them based on their ability to improve measurement, decrease costs, and imporve information for better application and understanding by management. The project must show significant benefits to teh travel and tourism industry.
The recipient of this Grant will receive $2,000, a plaque, a $300 travel allowance and a complimentary registration to the 2005 TTRA Annual Conference. This year's winner is Dr. SooCheong Jang. He is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Hotel, Restaurant, Institution Management and Dietetic at Kansas State University . The title of his proposal was Mitigating Travel Market Seasonality: An Application of Financial Portfolio Theory.
